The reason why I started on my own is because I used to be so sick and tired of my 8am to 8pm job working as a Corporate Executive. I just hated working for someone else because my boss used to always get on my nerves with abuses and criticism with justification of performance & work. And that’s why I started my own internet business online.
And why I created “Awakening to Excellence” concept was to meet, network, and give back to other newbie entrepreneurs who are in the same situation just like I am in and also in a way giving back to society many more harmonious and happy people. But before I get into all of that… let me just tell you a little bit more about me….coming from a background of conservative & small middle class family from South India, my upbringing and value systems were always revolving around being a good worker with sincerity, loyalty & integrity. I completed Graduation with Finance as my Major. I started my carrier with a very small proprietorship organization. From there on moved to Multinational Corporation. Right now I work for this Corporation and I got to tell you it sucks! Let me share the picture with you. I get up to the most annoying alarm clock in the world. I think the person who made my alarm clock had the intention of really ruining somebody’s day and used that sound to accomplish his goal. I get up and shower and put on to the most ridiculous formal dress. I can’t help but laugh every time I see myself in the mirror with my outfit. Then I have to get in my car and sit in bumper to bumper traffic to get to work. I live about 25 kms from the Office and it takes me 90 min to get to work. And then get on to the routine job with the abusive boss. I am working for this Corporation for past 12 years now.
I learnt a million dollars lesson which no school / university under this planet will provide you. Companies have no values for your hard work, sincerity, loyalty and integrity once the opportunity to use your skills dries up. I saw this happening to quite a few and right in front of me. It was scary and so uncertain. I wondered what such employees will do? What will their Families do?
